Deleting

Deleting your account.

You can do it yourself, in two taps, from either the app or this website. It happens straight away — there is no waiting period and nothing to ask us for.

From this website

• Sign in with your email address and the six-digit code.
• Open your account.
• Press Delete my account, then press it again to confirm.

From the app

• Open Meraky and tap the gear in the top right.
• Under Account, tap Delete account, then tap again to confirm.

What is deleted

• Your account and the email address on it.
• Your nickname, which is released for somebody else to claim.
• The backup copy of your library held on our server, and the previous copy kept beside it.
• Your subscription record. Cancel the subscription itself first if it is still running — see below.

All of it goes immediately and permanently. We keep no copy and there is nothing to restore.

What is not deleted

Your books. The library lives in a database on your own phone, and that is the original — the backup was only ever a copy. Deleting the account does not touch a single book, note, rating or reading session in the app, and every screen carries on working exactly as it did.

What you lose is the second copy: with the account gone there is nothing to restore from if the phone goes. To remove the library as well, uninstall the app or clear its data from your device settings.

If you have a subscription

Cancel it before you delete the account, so it does not renew. If you are within 14 days of paying, write to us and we will refund it in full.

If you cannot sign in

Email hello@meraky.club from the address on the account and we will delete it for you within 30 days.
